Here are just some ideas of our perfect pairings.

Mallorca and Menorca

Both enchanting Balearic Islands yet each with their own distinctive characters, landscapes and culture.  Mallorca, the larger of the two islands is sophisticated with the vibrant and cosmopolitan Palma at its heart, a place where gothic cathedrals and medieval castles juxtapose with the super cool and trendy. Beyond city life is a tapestry of olive groves and citrus orchards and the dramatic Tramuntana mountains offer spectacular hiking. All topped off with some of the best restaurants in the Med.  Stay at Sant Francesc in Palma old town or Can Simoneta for coastal chic.

Meanwhile, a short ferry ride away you will find Mallorca’s little sister, Menorca; charming and understated, slower, laidback and effortlessly cool. White sandy beaches, pine fringed rocky “calas”, deserted coves and spectacular coastlines, this is a place for kicking back and relaxing. We love the many paths and trails crisscrossing the island and the UNESCO-listed biosphere reserve where you can explore unspoilt landscapes.  Son Vell is our latest love in Menorca.

Coastal and rural Portugal

Just over an hour south of Lisbon on the Atlantic coast and you will come to a beautifully unspoilt part of the Iberian Peninsula.  And tucked away within a 17 hectare estate amongst pine and cork trees is the ever so serene eco retreat, Sublime Comporta.  Days here are gentle – yoga classes in pine forests, walking along the beach, horse riding through the sand dunes, private picnics on the beach, oyster tasting or private tennis lessons…

After taking your fill of fresh sea air head inland – just a two hour drive away – to the peaceful haven of Sao Lourenco do Barrocal, a renovated family-owned rural farmhouse estate surrounded by wilderness of the Alentejo plains with vineyards and olive groves as far as the eye can see. This is the epitome of rural Portugal.   Wine tasting, cycling through nearby historic villages and nearby ancient castles and feasting on the freshest farm to fork Portuguese cuisine are all on the agenda.

Sri Lanka and Maldives

The culture, architecture and heritage of Sri Lanka, followed by the white sand, palm-tree paradise of the Maldives? One of our favourite pairings and an easy 1.5 hours by plane.  We love Sri Lanka for its rich tapestry of culture, it is a colourful country with bustling local markets, incredible cuisine and UNESCO World Heritage Sites from temples to forts not to mention to the wildlife wonders of Yala National Park. For a Sri Lankan Safari Experience,  Chena Huts is out of this world!

While the Maldives is the perfect contrast; a paradisiacal escape with crystal-clear turquoise waters and coral reefs with teeming fish, the chance to snorkel and rejuvenate whilst sipping on cocktails and gazing out across crimson sunsets galore.  All of our resorts are breathtakingly beautiful – a couple of our favourites: Baros for its Maldivian charm and Gili Lankanfushi for its cool water villas with slides.

Kenya and Seychelles

Combining the raw, untamed beauty of African wilderness with the idyllic paradise of Seychelles is a complete winner.  We can promise thrilling safaris in Kenya – whether visiting the teeming plains of the Masai Mara, the flamingos in Lake Nakurua or large elephant herds in the Amboseli National Park along with opportunities to engage with local communities, learn about ancient traditions and witness awe-inspiring ceremonies.  Have a look at Cottar’s 1920s Camp or House in the Wild.

From the vast plains of Kenya to an archipelago of 115 little islands peppered across the sparkling Indian Ocean.  Whiter than white beaches, crystalline waters and lush mountainous middles, The Seychelles offers incomparable beach resorts and barefoot luxury! Take a peek at Denis Private Island or Raffles Seychelles. The beaches are completely stunning and we also love the mesmerising underwater world teeming with marine life.

Dubai and Oman

A dazzling metropolis, Dubai stands as a testament to modernity, opulence and innovation, its iconic skyline and cutting-edge architecture set against the desert backdrop. While luxury is synonymous with Dubai –Address Beach Resort must be at least 7 starts, you should also make time to dip into the historic district of Al Fahidi for a glimpse into the city’s humble beginnings when it was just a fishing village.

Just an hour’s flight away is the unspoilt beauty of Oman.  Here it is not about the glitz and glam of Dubai but colourful traditions and mystiques of old – ancient hilltop citadels, bustling souqs and grand mosques.  Head to one of the incredible hotels on the pristine coastline along the Arabian Sea and Gulf of Oman – what about The Chedi Muscat on its own private beach or Six Senses Zighy Bay for activities galore.

Spa and adventure in Iceland

Repeatedly ranked high on the list of the happiest and healthiest countries in the world, Iceland should firmly be on your bucket list if you’re looking for a healthy, outdoorsy holiday.  This is the place to reenergise, relax and restore through the radiant powers of geothermal waters. On the southwestern tip of Iceland, The Retreat at Blue Lagoon is an ideal place for doing just this with its own mineral rich warm geothermal waters and range of treatments.
