If you’ve heard the saying that Mauritius was made before heaven, it’s not far wrong. One of the most colourful and characterful islands in the entire Indian Ocean. It's a tropical paradise consisting of over 200 miles of pristine coastline - it’s little wonder the beaches and coral reefs are the island’s main draw.
The food scene is burgeoning, with influences far beyond its own shores, and the people could not give you a warmer welcome.
Beyond its perfect shores, its heart is wildly beautiful – resplendent with lush rainforest, volcanic craters and dramatic peaks with 360 degree views. Known for its quite extraordinary flora, the island is also home to one of the world’s finest botanical gardens. It’s an island with a rich cultural history – from being an important trading post for Europeans since the 16th century, the island has soaked up all manner of customs and traditions, creating a unique and colourful culture.
