Straddling the equator and stretching from East Africa to Western Australia, from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal almost as far as Antarctica, the Indian Ocean is quite possibly the most exotic of all. It’s bordered by rainforests, deserts, mangroves and cities built from ancient spice routes established by sailors who navigated by the stars.
Sprinkled across its warm waters are thousands of islands, atolls and coral reefs, like small specks of paradise, basking in a tropical climate and gently kissed by trade winds.
