A kaleidoscope of Middle Eastern and Western cultures, Dubai is a heady mix of ancient traditions and 21st century wonder. Springing from the desert, its unmistakeable architecture – whimsical skyscrapers and frond-like manmade islands - dominate the landscape.
Once populated by cattle herders and fishermen, it later became an important trading post, and is now a dazzling and slick metropolis, populated by a wealth of different nationalities, and where you can’t fail to be in awe of its scale. Add miles and miles of fine sandy beaches along the Persian Gulf and over 300 days of sunshine, and you have a vibrant holiday destination.
