Villa Gaia – Kalamaki, Corfu

Villa Gaia – Kalamaki, Corfu

A relaxing villa, ideal for a family or group of friends, Gaia is nestled into wooded hillside in the private forty-acre Kardaki estate. We love the fabulous frontage, making the most of the simply gorgeous view of the Ionian and mainland Greece. A covered dining area and long terrace stretch the length of the villa, with further terraced areas and gardens surrounding it. It is beautifully finished inside, with high ceilings and bright, airy rooms.

There’s open plan living and two bedrooms on the ground floor, with the Master bedroom on the lower level and TV and games rooms on the lower ground floor. Gaia can be rented together with its sister – Villa Eos – which sleeps four guests. The two villas share an entrance path and are connected via a storeroom/laundry. However, each is completely autonomous. The villa is reached by twenty-one steps (there’s a luggage service straight to your door!) This is a beautifully secluded villa from which to explore Corfu.

activities

Gaia is the ideal base for exploring Corfu. Close by is Kalamaki beach, and you’re not far from the old fishing village of Kassiopi, with its Byzantine castle. The heritage site of Perithia is just a kilometre away – a traditional village full of tavernas, old Venetian style buildings and nearly more churches than there are inhabitants. Around this part of the coastline, there are numerous excellent beachfront tavernas, and for water lovers, we recommend chartering a boat for a day or two.

family

With the games room, swimming pool and sandy beach of Kalamaki a short drive away, Gaia is ideal for families.
