Villa Erato – Corfu, Greece
Erato is a simply stunning villa, with sprawling terraces making the most of the magnificent view across the bay and peninsula. Designed and built with entertaining in mind, there’s an array of places for al fresco eating, covered pergolas, quiet courtyards and balconies. The gardens are brimming with Mediterranean shrubs and flowers, olive and cyprus trees. The stepped infinity pool is the centrepiece, and there’s no better place to soak up your idyllic surroundings.
The water is just below, reached by a winding path, and where you’ll find a jetty for arriving by boat. And steps away is a tranquil, sandy beach. Stylish and contemporary, Erato has everything you need for a villa holiday – large open-plan living spaces and airy bedrooms. The Master bedroom is on the upper level, and features a courtyard bath and rainforest shower along with its en suite bathroom. The further four bedrooms are on the lower level – all of which have fabulous views.

The villa sleeps up to twelve guests in four en-suite double bedrooms, all of which can be twinned and an en-suite bunk room with two sets of bunk beds. For larger parties, Erato can be rented with adjacent sister house Tugela which also sleeps up to twelve guests.

On arrival, guests are greeted with a welcome hamper. Erato comes with a local concierge service and housekeeping seven days a week, with a midweek linen change. There’s a daily breakfast service and guests can request a private chef. The villa has a gardener and someone to look after the pool.

Erato is made for winding down and enjoying the terraces and glorious views. If you’re feeling active, there’s swimming and tennis, and the option of chartering a boat for a day or two to explore the coastline. There are numerous excellent beachfront tavernas close by, and you’re not far from the fishing villages of Kassiopi, with its Byzantine castle, and Agios Stefanos with its crescent beach.
