Son Bunyola – Mallorca, Balearic Islands

Son Bunyola – Mallorca, Balearic Islands

Mallorca has held a special place in Sir Richard Branson’s heart since he was a boy. And now, his vast estate in the north west of the island, is home to a luxury hotel and three private villas. Set amongst the Tramuntana mountains, with three miles of pristine and rugged coastline, a pebble beach, olive groves and vineyards, it’s an idyllic hideaway. The 16th century finca has been meticulously restored, retaining all its classical features and given stylish and luxurious interiors.

Nestled in the grounds are three private villas, each with full use of the boutique hotel’s facilities. Roam the estate or venture further afield to enjoy the charms of this beautiful Balearic island.

One of the restaurants is in the finca’s restored olive press, and the cuisine focuses on fresh produce from around the island. Guests staying in the villas can self-cater or have their own private chef.

activities

Anyone who has visited Mallorca before will tell you that you’ll never fail to find things to do. The island has everything – beautiful walking trails in the mountains, picturesque and historic towns and villages, idyllic beaches, a thriving capital and a flourishing food scene. This is reason enough for visitors to return again and again. From Son Bunyola you can cycle the famous mountain roads, or simply put on some walking boots and head up into the hills, or along the coast.

You’re not far from Deia – the stunning hill town full of restaurants and boutique shops, whilst Palma, Andratx are within easy reach. Mallorca has over 20 golf courses and the concierge can reserve you a teeing off time at any one of them. For a day on the water, boats can be chartered (skippered or non), or there’s deep sea fishing, paddle boarding and kayaking.  At the hotel itself, indulge in a Spa treatment, play tennis on the clay court, book a private yoga session, or just soak up the sun by the pool.
