Inara Camp – Agafay Desert, Morocco
Out in the desert, like a mirage, Inara Camp is a little dose of luxury and adventure, just an hour from Marrakech. It’s a spectacular mineral landscape, at the foot of the Atlas Mountains, where guests can relax in Berber luxury, or explore the canyons and plateaux by camel, horseback or on foot. Guests are pampered by a wonderfully friendly team, and expert guides are on hand to lead you out into the surrounding wilderness. It’s a thrilling antidote to a few days in the city.

Set a good distance from each other, there are three types of tent – Discovery, Emotion and Inara Suite. Simply designed, Berber style, with kilim rugs and cushions, they all feature kingsize beds, en suite bathrooms and terraces with daybeds. And each one looks out across the canyon and desert.
food
Dining here is a romantic affair.
Desert picnic breakfasts by camel, under canvas in a private tent, or beneath the stars around a campfire, food is authentic Moroccan and beautifully presented, with much of the produce grown in a local village.
activities
There’s a whole host of activities on offer at Inara Camp, promising desert adventure and a chance to explore this beguiling stony landscape. A camel ride is practically a must and you can choose from an hour to half a day that includes a picnic. Alternatively, go on horseback with a guide or a mountain bike. If you’re happier on your own two feet, then you can hike out into the wilderness.
For a bit of adrenalin, there are quad bikes and buggies, and full day 4×4 safaris to the Atlas Mountains can also be organized. Just 14km away is Lake Lalla Takerkoust, where you can kayak, paddle board or jet ski – and not forgetting lunch!

Inara Camp is an ideal place for family adventure and experiencing a tiny slice of desert life. The larger Inara Suite tents are perfectly set up for families, accommodating an extra bed or cot.
