Be lulled to sleep with the sounds of the jungle and the gentle lapping of waves on the shore, in these rustic chic suites. Spacious and intimate, with leafy terraces, outdoor rainforest showers and inviting plunge pools, the suites and villas are made with polished concrete, dark wood walls and filled with locally furnishings. Arena Suites, on the ground floor, nestle amongst the foliage with a plunge pool, whilst the Ocean Suites feature open plan living and a rooftop pool.
You feel wrapped in nature in the Tierra Suites, especially with the outdoor bath tub, and you can almost touch the canopy in the Aire Suites, with their rooftop terraces and pool. The Agua Suites are closer to the beach, and the larger Premier Suites come with a beachfront terrace. Oceanfront Suites are bright and airy, just steps from the water, but if you’d like to feel part of the rainforest then the Jungle Suites and Premier Jungle Suites offer real seclusion. Tucked away on a private stretch of beach in the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, you’ll find Casa Sastran – a luxurious five bedroom villa that looks out over the Caribbean, the jungle and the freshwater lagoon.

With the emphasis very much on local produce and celebrating traditional Mexican food, there’s a fabulous choice of restaurants here. At Ocumare, where the terrace leads down to the beach, you’ll dine on international dishes imbued with local flavours. Maresias is the resort’s beach club and serves delicious seafood in a perfect setting. And at 4 Fuegos, delicious grilled surf and turf is on the menu.
There are two bars, with our favourite being Sky Terrace where local musicians play whilst you watch the sun go down, with a cocktail in your hand.

This retreat really is all about relaxation and decompression. The suites encourage lazy days, and the quiet beach is nigh on impossible to drag yourself away from. The Yäan Spa is a sanctuary you’ll want to visit. Tucked away in the jungle, it offers age-old Mayan healing therapies, and features a rooftop garden where many of its treatment ingredients are grown, and each day there are free yoga and meditation classes.
Help yourself to a paddle board and glide around the bay, or take a snorkel to discover the array of colourful marine life around the reef. For exploring a little further, there are also complimentary bikes for guests. The ancient ruins of Tulum are only six miles away, and we recommend a visit to see these incredible buildings strung along the coast. Or take a day to see some of Mexico’s most famous Mayan archaeology at Chichen Itza. Then head back to your favourite sun lounger!

This exotic beach retreat is for adults – the perfect escape for a couple, or an idyllic honeymoon location. All guests and visitors must be 16 years and older.

Be Tulum is committed to sustainable tourism and to ensuring a carbon neutral existence. Since 2019, the retreat has had a robust tree planting scheme in place, to counteract emissions and enhance the local area. Strict energy usage and waste management policies are also in place.
