This May half term, our founders Philippa and Holly returned en masse again to their favourite villas on the small Ionian isle of Meganisi. Why? Because it just works…

 

Here is some information on our favourite Greek island, Meganisi

The Destination: Meganisi is a little further to get to with a short transfer and boat ride but it’s worth it. It’s unspoilt, lush, safe, absolutely beautiful and tranquil. It’s like stepping back in time to a Greece of old where.

Villa Set-Up: For our mad multigenerational group of 27 (3 grandparents, 13 adults, 11 children between 0-12 years) it works perfectly. 3 villas on the same site and within a stone’s throw of each other, so the children can move freely between without worrying. Yet far enough and private enough to feel like you’re in your own villa. Each villa sleeps 10 in en-suite bedrooms, traditional yet, very well equipped kitchens, spacious outdoor living and dining spaces, breath taking views over the Ionian, and every detail is thought of. 

The Service: A semi-catered offering of daily housekeeping (delivered by the most charming team), a trolley of Greek breakfast goodies arrives each morning, on site concierge and optional upgrades including shopping delivery and evening meals. 

What there is to do: Whilst the island is sleepy, there is plenty to do for all ages particularly if you hire a boat. Surrounded by azure seas to play on, other islands within reach to explore, a port town to visit, and many lovely tavernas to while away a lunch. There are beautiful walks, swims, electric bike rides, yoga, and 

What else we love: The direct access to our own private beach and pontoon, the people, the food, the clear waters, the RIB rides, the no agenda, the simplicity, the ease and the family time.  We just wish we could have gone for longer… next time.
