Visit Lapland and other Winter Wonderlands

Whilst many of you might be turning your attention to the sun and, let’s face it, it has been a long winter. We are here to remind you to get ahead with the plans for the end of the year before you forget what snowy adventures you missed this year.

No one gets more booked up than the ‘main man’ himself. Father Christmas might get the year off, but his elves are busy filling his schedule for the next season and we’ve been called in to help!

Is this the year to venture to Finnish Lapland with the kids to enjoy an actioned packed couple of days exploring nature and those mystical traditions? Or, are you all a bit too big (never too big!) and fancy taking your teenagers for more adrenaline fuelled fun in the beautiful frozen Swedish back country?

Children doing their own thing this year? Perfect. Time to discover the geographical highlights of Iceland and catch yourselves a glimpse of the Northern Lights. Did we mention you can add in a few days skiing to all the above? OR simply rally the family and head to the Alps to stay in one of our chalets for some precious family time in front of the log fire whilst we look after you.

A DATE WITH FATHER CHRISTMAS

An Arctic adventure and a visit to the workshop of the main man himself, never fails to enchant children young or old. Finnish Lapland is the land that dreams are made of – husky sledding through birch forests; snowmobiling over frozen lakes; getting up close and personal with reindeer, and learning local cultures. A three day or more all-inclusive package to the home of Father Christmas can be the trip of a lifetime.

Our portfolio has properties to suit everyone and every budget – from five star luxury at Octola Private Lodge to Father Christmas packages at Muotka Wilderness Lodge. Sleep under a glass roof in the Northern Lights Village in Pyhä, or for an unforgettable grown-up only trip, head to Jávri, 250 north of the Arctic Circle.

All these can get booked up far in advance as do the flights to get you there, so we recommend securing them as early as possible.

IN YOUR WORDS…

✨”Our trip to visit Father Christmas was all that we had hoped for.  The hotel was
small and extremely well run with good home cooked buffet style meals
with a children’s option.  All the activities were excellent and the staff running
them were charming and great with the children.  The highlight for the girls of
course was visiting “the big man” himself. This was exclusive to us and absolutely
perfect. Their faces made the cost and the travel worthwhile.” ✨

ADVENTURES IN THE SWEDISH BACK COUNTRY

Discovering Swedish Lapland is all about immersing yourself in the outside, adorning the snow suit and getting out in nature. Only when you have spent the day ice fishing, husky riding, snowmobiling, snow shoeing and cross country skiing is it permissible to jump into the hot tub or sauna and gosh you will have deserved it.

Our collection of properties in Swedish Lapland allow you to kick back and watch nature from the warmth of your own cabin. Track the moose as they make their way across the frozen lake at Arctic Bath or catch a glimpse of the Northern lights from your cabin at the Tree hotel. If you are in need of a bit more fresh air we can recommend a night in the Ice Hotel to get your circulation going.
