Island Hopping

Our favourite Island Hopping destinations

Why visit just one magical island when you can experience a string of these pearly paradises in one trip – the allure of hopping from one remote speck in the ocean to the next, in our opinion, is beyond comparison.

There are so many stunning archipelagos to choose from including; clusters floating in the crystal clear Med, far flung gems on the other side of the world, remote islands, and tropical jewels. And whether you choose to whimsically sail into the sunset on a luxury yacht, hop by sea plane to the next paradise, or you choose practical but reliable ferry crossings, we love nothing more than to plot and plan the perfect itinerary just for you.

Please read on for some island hopping inspiration.

These islands were quite simply made for island hopping – almost criminal not to – and with around 100 inhabited islands and 7000 uninhabited islands there are so many different island combinations to choose from. Each tropical paradise has its own unique charm and character so hop between a few to get a taste of the different Caribbean flavours. Enjoy Barbados for its fascinating history, head to St Vincent & the Grenadines and the tiny island of Bequia for its off-the-beaten track wilderness and the Caribbean Queen of St Lucia for its golden beaches and volcanic peaks.

Caribbean Holidays

A cluster of 60 islands ready for the taking, and there is no better way to explore this idyllic corner than sailing island to island on a luxury yacht with all the trimmings. From swimming with turtles, anchoring in impossibly pretty and secluded coves for a beach picnic, exploring the history of piracy and Dutch settlers to venturing on land for some laidback partying at one of the swanky beach clubs. We can curate tailormade itineraries to include all corners of this archipelago. Not forgetting there is some of the world’s best diving sites.

Sail the BVIs

Known to be one of the best sailing areas in the world with little tide and sparkling Grecian coastline, we highly recommend chartering one of our superyachts or catamarans, but for those not interested in sailing and looking to lay their head on a hotel pillow, the regular ferry services make connecting the islands very straightforward (and this is also where our expertise comes in). Whether you opt for exploring the Northern Ionian Islands, steeped in antiquity with a tapestry of cultures or you head to the Cyclades combining Paros with Santorini or Mykonos, make sure to leave plenty of time in between journeys for hidden coves, snorkelling and paddleboarding on the crystal seas.

The sparkling Dalmatian Coast is staggeringly beautiful, a place full of sleepy islands which you will have all to yourself, secret coves for secluded swims and some of the best fish restaurants.  Soak up the historic walled city of Dubrovnik, the empty coves around the island of Vis, the botanical gardens and ruined monastery at Lokrum and the sophisticated beach clubs of Hvar. While the dramatic beaches and stunning archipelago of the 150 scattered Kornati Islands are said to be one of the last wilderness spots in Europe. Whether by ferry or private charter anything and everything is possible.

Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera form this well-loved archipelago – all four sisters wonderfully alluring, each sparkling with its own distinct personality. Menorca for its seductively slow pace of life and understated charm where you will find white sandy beaches and deserted coves; Mallorca we love for its cosmopolitan chic capital Palma, the pine clad Tramuntana mountains and some out of this world tapas bars. While Ibiza has forever been dubbed the ‘party gal’, although we promise Ibiza has much more to offer, and tiny Formentera just six kilometres south of Ibiza is boho chic with Caribbean-esque beaches and stunning rainbow coloured salt flats. Why not hop between them all?

The Balearic Islands

More than 1200 islands bejewel the Indian Ocean to form the magnificent Maldives and we can guarantee that every single island is a perfect sandy paradise looking out onto turquoise seas surrounded by coral reefs teeming with fish, and every single resort breathtakingly beautiful. It would be easy to combine a couple of these paradisiacal escapes islands for a magnificent trip. However, if you wanted to combine two very different islands, pair a Maldives island with Sri Lanka, an easy 1.5 hours by plane. The culture, architecture and heritage of Sri Lanka is a wonderful contrast to the Maldives laid back lands.

The Maldives Sri Lanka

An archipelago of 115 islands here it is all about barefoot luxury with jaw-achingly beautiful natural splendour; lush and mountainous jungles, tropical beaches and incredible reefs to dive into. Uninhabited until the 17th century, each of these precious islands is unique and offers a different glimpse into Seychellois island life. What about taking a helicopter to Praslin – once a port for Arab merchants, followed by pirate hub –  then boat over to the granitic island of Felicite – once a coconut plantation and now a luxury one-resort paradise – before flying out to Denis Private Island, a tiny coral private island; unpretentious and understated and very much your own.

Just an hour’s drive away from the centre of Stockholm lies an otherworldly and untamed paradise: Stockholm’s Wild Northern Archipelago. We can organise a guided adventure to explore and hop between this breath-taking maze of rugged islands, hidden coves, and pristine wilderness. Days will be spent paddle boarding through crystal-clear waters to secluded beaches, hiking along winding trails and spotting incredible wildlife, from sea eagles soaring overhead to playful seals in the surf. The accommodation itself is an experience with the opportunity to sleep in a tent on a small island overlooking the sea.
