rooms

Located across the main building and two connected annexes, the rooms and suites at Valtur are slick and contemporary in décor. They’re all a soothing mix of warm, natural colours and wood finishing, with marble and granite bathrooms. There are plenty of different room choices, which we can talk you through, the most prestigious accommodation is the Cervino Suite with two private terraces overlooking the Matterhorn.

food

The mountain cuisine in Cervinia is excellent and Valtur most definitely comes up to the mark. Ingredients are all seasonal and sourced from local producers. At the à la carte Gou, there’s a delicious mix of regional and Mediterranean dishes, where you can watch the chefs in the open kitchen. There’s a bistro serving lighter meals and a terrace with fire pits during the winter for an après ski drink and lunch or dinner in the summer.

activities

The vast Matterhorn Ski Paradise area – three hundred and fifty kilometres of slopes above and below the tree line, and a hop over into Zermatt – is just a short shuttle ride from Valtur. Cervinia has an enviably long season and excellent snow record, with skiing even into the summer months on the Plateau Rosa glacier. Long, wide, cruisy runs make this the ideal resort for beginners and intermediates, and you’ll find plenty of snow park, including the highest in Europe.

For some more challenging runs, you can ski over the top into Switzerland – just make sure you don’t miss the last lift back! The even more adventurous can heliski from here too. There are cross country and snow shoeing trails, and back at the hotel, ice skating. And if you fancy a day off from skiing, there’s dog sledding and snowmobile rides. Like most mountain resorts, the summer months offer a fabulous array of activities. On the mountain, you can bike, hike, horse ride, tackle a via ferrata and paraglide. There’s rafting and canyoning nearby and an eighteen hole golf course less than a mile from the hotel. Valtur has a tennis and two padel courts. It also has a rather glorious Spa. Divided into four areas, with a large pool (and a dedicated children’s pool), a well-equipped gym, massage rooms and the Spa itself, with a bio sauna, Turkish bath, ice waterfall and a salt wall, you may find yourself here for some considerable time!

There’s a new Magic Carpet ski lift which connects guests to the red ski run 200m above the hotel making access to the slopes even easier!

family

You can be sure to get a warm Italian welcome with your children here. With a Mini Club for three to six year olds; a Kids Club for seven to ten year olds; a Teens Club for eleven to thirteen year olds and a Tribe Club for fourteen to seventeen year olds, Valtur has everything pretty much covered. The younger guests are accompanied to the slopes for their lessons, and those too small to ski have fun in the snow and a full programme of organised activities. During lunch, children are accompanied by the childcare staff.

sustainability

The philosophy of Valtur Cervinia Cristallo is based on a complete respect and love for the environment, communities, and people, it is a Bio architecture. A plastic free resort with collection and use of rainwater and recycling management.

Summer

There’s plenty to do in the summer months from golf to swimming, horseback riding to mountain biking, from climbing to paragliding.
