Hotel Avenue Lodge
A dramatic contrast from its more traditional Alpine style neighbours, Avenue Lodge is sultry and sophisticated, and right in the centre of the action. Dark beams and deep colours are juxtaposed with cowhide furniture and noirish lighting, giving it a modern mountain chic vibe, at the same time as being convivial and welcoming. Guests return year after year for its boutique feel, very friendly staff, and hard to beat location. From here, you can be one of the first up the mountain.

With dark stained wood floors and wall panels, thick faux fur throws, monochrome mountain prints and dark tiled bathrooms, the rooms and suites are intimate and cosy, with supremely comfortable beds that envelop you after a day on the slopes. And we love the TVs above the bathtubs. Standard Rooms are romantic boltholes, and some of the slightly more spacious Classic Rooms come with a private sauna.
The Upper Rooms and Junior Suite Rooms all have sofabeds that can sleep a child (under 12), and the Suite Rooms and Duplex Suite Rooms can accommodate a family of four. Many of the rooms and suites have a balcony, and our favourites face away from Avenue Olympique.
food
You’ll get a good start out on the slopes each morning with the hearty and very plentiful breakfast served here. The restaurant serves exceptionally good Savoyard fine dining and bistro style cuisine, and the bar is a welcoming spot for a quiet drink after a day’s skiing.
activities
You are just a short walk – five minutes – from the lifts taking you into the heart of the Espace Killy. Val d’Isère promises some of the best skiing in the Alps. You don’t even have to go very far for your equipment, as the hotel ski shop has everything, from skis to snowboards and telemark equipment. After a day on the slopes, the Spa has a good range of treatments and therapies, or if après ski is more your thing, then you couldn’t be better placed.

Families are most welcome, and many of the rooms and suites can sleep an extra child. However, there are no specific facilities for younger children.
sustainability
Avenue Lodge is working hard on its footprint. You’ll find no single use plastic amenities in the bathrooms, and there are water dispensers throughout the hotel. The bathrooms are fitted with water efficient showers and all lighting is LED.
