This is a country to explore, be it by road, bike, on foot or horseback. Go deep into ice caves, head across ancient lava flows, or even scuba between tectonic plates.
Culture
Rich in Nordic folklore, with mystic tales of trolls and elves, and ancient traditions, this island nation also punches its weight in contemporary arts and music. There’s a constant stream of festivals and events in Reykjavik and around the island.
Happiness
Iceland is consistently rated as one of the safest and happiest countries in the world. Something that’s always evident in the warm Icelandic welcome.
Flora & fauna
Firmly on the migratory route, there’s hardly a better place to watch birdlife, and out in the Atlantic, Orca, Minke, Humpback and Blue Whales are regular visitors.
Food
Evolved from, and inspired by its surroundings, Icelandic cuisine is elegant and simple. The food scene is experiencing a renaissance and naturally, the seafood dishes here could not be fresher.
