Here are some of our best tips to help you plan your African Safari Holiday with us…

Where to start?

The great plains of the Serengeti, the flooded wetlands of the Okavango or the desert of the Namib Rand? A beach stay on the East African coast or Lake Malawi? Lion, leopard, cheetah, giraffe or zebra? In the comfort of a game vehicle, on foot or on horseback? Canoe or mokoro?  Tell us what you want to see, and we’ll tell you the best places to go and when. Depending on the season, there’s often a better time to visit, in terms of wildlife, as well as prices.

Where to stay?

Our portfolio has everything from tented camps to private lodges, fly camps to luxury villas with a pool, and historic houses where giraffes pop their heads in to share breakfast. Choose from riverside luxury to a hidden hilltop retreat, from a suite carved into rocks in the desert, to classic safari splendour. We’ll make sure it’s the right place for you, with all the facilities for the perfect stay.

What age can we take them?

This is a question we are frequently asked. Whilst there are lodges that only accept children over the age of eight, and only allow older children to take part in many of their activities, there are also many fabulous destinations that have facilities and programmes for the littler ones. We know where to find the best guides, who ignite the imaginations of the youngest of guests – teaching them to make fire, track animals or essential survival skills. Our tailor-made safaris are for every generation – young and old.

Create memories that last a lifetime

For some, it’s the sight of the savannah from a balloon at dawn, for others it’s listening to the melodic click language of the Xhosa people or visiting a Maasai village and making bead jewellery. Maybe you’ve always wanted to catch a Tigerfish on the Zambezi, ride alongside a journey of giraffe, or drive yourself through the Namib Desert. We’ll make sure your safari is packed full of extraordinary sights, sounds and experiences.

In your words…

“Being on a family safari really is a life changing experience, the feeling of being surrounded by nature and wildlife will stay with you forever. There is nothing like it and to see the children immerse themselves in all that Africa has to offer is immeasurable, no screens, no loud music and yet not once did we hear “I’m bored”.” – Gisela 2023
