Why visit Les Arcs?

The Ski Area

With over 70% of the skiing above 2,000m, Les Arcs boasts excellent snow reliability, with a mix of wide bowls and tree-lined pistes. With its links to La Plagne, it is now the third largest interlinked ski area in the world, with 425km of pisted runs.

Pistes

Les Arcs has runs for everyone – with a fabulous amount of cruisey blues and wide open reds for beginners and intermediates. The gentle slopes of Peisey-Vallandry are the perfect place to start, whilst Plan des Eaux, Cachette and Arolles are great slopes for honing technique. Experts love the challenging terrain around Arc 2000 and the 3,226m Aiguille Rouge with its steep blacks, glacier skiing and off piste itineraries, including the 7km run to Villaroger with a 2,000m drop.

Restaurants

There’s no shortage of great mountain restaurants, with our favourites being Le Bistrot du Solliet, with its sunny terrace, and cosy fire inside and La Bulle for its fresh seafood. Belliou La Fumée has an atmospheric hunting lodge feel, with food cooked over an open fire. For rustic and romantic dining, ski to L’Ancolie.

Après ski

1800 leads the way in partying on the slopes with La Folie Douce and L’Arpette playing live music and DJ sets. The latter hosts a raclette party every Wednesday. Head for Igloo Village in 2000 or El Latino Loco for a lively party vibe.

Unique to Les Arcs

The Mille8 Aquatic and Fitness Centre is a multi activity venue with a water park, saunas, steam rooms and a futuristic sledging run in Les Arcs 1800. It’s a lot of fun for families after a day on the slopes and non-skiers alike.
