Trekking

Nepal is home to some of the most famous trekking routes in the world – making it the pinnacle for those who not only love dramatic scenery, but also a challenge. Hike through dense bamboo forest to high above the tree line, past fluttering prayer flags, across narrow mountain passes and past glacial lakes.

Wildlife

Throughout its diverse landscapes, Nepal is home to a remarkable variety of species. Visit the Chitwan National Park for the chance to spot Bengal tigers, elephants and rhinos. And in the Himalayas, red pandas, yaks and the elusive snow leopard.

Food

The country’s cuisine is heavily influenced by the wide range of ethnicities and backgrounds of its people, as well as its neighbours – India and China. Its unique terrain also means that produce is typically local. Subtly spiced, dishes range from hearty mountain food with tender meats, to flavoursome street food with pulses and vegetables.

Culture

With over 100 ethnic groups, each with its own language, beliefs and festivals, Nepal is a truly colourful country. It also boasts its fair share of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, full of temples, monasteries and stupas. And Lumbini, believed to be the birthplace of the Buddha is a major pilgrimage destination.

The People

There’s a saying that you come to Nepal for the Himalayas, but you return for the people. Exceptionally friendly and generous, they regard visitors as guests, giving them the warmest of welcomes.
