The remotest place on the planet, Antarctica is a continent of stark beauty, contrasting landscapes and serene silence. The low angle of the polar sun creates a unique light, creating dramatic effects on the monochrome landscape, and when the atmosphere is just right, the magnificent Aurora Australis fires up the skies. Known as the frozen continent (and technically classified as a desert), it’s the ultimate destination for travellers with a lust for exploration. It’s a continent of mythical landscape, shimmering icebergs, and stunning wildlife. Apart from a handful of scientists, there’s no human habitation, and a ship is the closest you’ll get to it.
Our expeditions in this region are lead by teams who have an intimate knowledge of the continent and our boats navigate through waters to exclusive locations. Zodiac boats take you ashore where possible, or explore the ice floes and circle icebergs. Our South Georgia itineraries promise fascinating wildlife encounters, in one of the most ecologically rich destinations on earth.
