food
Few restaurants can boast this kind of view… whilst the menu is also a spellbinding mix of hearty dishes to fuel your adventurous days, and elegant fine dining with ingredients sourced from nearby estancias. Feast on Patagonian flavours, washed down with an exceptional selection of South American wines. And don’t forget to sample their take on the classic pisco-based cocktail with locally foraged berries.
activities
Covering around 700 square miles, the Torres del Paine National Park is both vast and stunning. The diverse terrain covers granite peaks, glaciers, waterfalls, grasslands and turquoise lakes, and Tierra Patagonia organises excursions to explore large swathes of it, either on two feet, mountain bike, horseback or by boat. Across the four distinct areas of the park there are number of half and full day guided itineraries that you can do as part of a group, or privately.
In addition, there’s a range of additional adventures including a search for the elusive puma. Expert guides know where to find these camouflaged cats, and along the way, you’ll encounter guanacos, condors and flamingos.
family
With the focus very much on wilderness excursions, many of which require long drives and often challenging walking, Tierra Patagonia is a destination for families with older teens. The accommodation is very family friendly, with interconnecting rooms and suites.
sustainability
Tierra Patagonia was built using sustainable materials, with the focus very much on its design in nature and its setting. Plants from the site were nurtured during construction and replanted once built, whilst water conservation, solar power and waste management systems were also integral to the build. The hotel supports local community and environmental projects; prioritises the employment of local people and sources produce locally.
