Hotel Goldener Berg – Oberlech, Austria
The history of the Goldener Berg began in the 15th century, when it was a farm, becoming a lodge in the 1920s. Owned by the Pfefferkorn family since the mid 60s, it has established a reputation for its welcoming atmosphere, outstanding cuisine and most of all, its magnificent location high on the Oberlech plateau. During the winter, it can only be reached by cable car, giving it an exclusive feel all of its own.
It is frequented by guests who love the privacy and personal service, as well as families whose children are welcomed with open arms. There’s little wonder why the staff here are known as the “golden team”.

From here, you can ski the entire Arlberg ski area – Austria’s largest, with over 300km of groomed piste and 200km of off piste terrain – serviced by a network of 85 lifts. The area also has numerous cross country skiing trails, as well as hiking and snowshoeing tracks for non skiers.
Take the cable car down to Lech for ice skating and horse drawn carriage rides. For tired legs, head for the Alpin Spa, where the holistic and natural treatments are designed to restore and revive.
